Class E-Letter

AHOY there, Mateys!!

Have you visited our class website lately?

If you have not visited www.1960sailors.net in a while, you are in for a surprise --- or several surprises.  Depending upon how long it has been, our ever changing website has undergone many improvements for your enjoyment.   Many of those changes are listed below and, with links,  in the right column of our regular online Class Newsletter page, which (like this special e-mail edition) has recently been quite aptly titled, .  The most recent changes are always marked on the site as .

You should visit our site often because it is ever changing.  And among the frequent changes are seasonal ones, pages containing special holiday greetings from me to all of you.  For example, if you go there soon enough (like now), you will find a Mother's Day greeting, not just for the mothers and grandmothers in our class, but for all of us who have (or once had) mothers.  (That about covers everyone, doesn't it?) And next month, a very special commemorative page will appear.  Check it out.

Here are some of the more interesting permanent additions from the last year or so:

  • A new and improved Roadside Rest page, with more photos and more history, and a  link to it in the banner at the top of every page on the site

  • More photos of  our little town, then and now

  • A lesson in the meaning and origin of the word, "googamooga"

  • Our own "American Bandstand" page (the best on the web!)

  • The class 60th birthday card

  • Cool stuff from the Sailor's Handbook, 1957-'58, 1958-'59 and 1959-'60 editions (on various pages)

  • The Rock 'n' Roll Radio page

  • Tribute to the memory of Jr. High music teacher, Ed Taylor

If you haven't done so yet, give me your feedback, now
---  PLEASE!

Its almost a year since I asked classmates to complete and submit our website "Feedback Form."  Many have, and I thank them.  But many more have not.  This is the main reason I have not completed the class directory that has been promised.  So if you haven't submitted feedback yet,  why not take a few moments to do it now, huh?

  • Would you like to have another class reunion in 2005?  How about Memorial Day weekend?

  • Would you like to be assured that you will be contacted for the next reunion, whenever it is?

  • And would you like to have an online class directory and be able to hear from your old friends and classmates or contact them and keep in touch periodically by e-mail or telephone?

Many of our classmates have expressed a desire for a 45-year reunion (observing that we are too old to wait 10 years since the last one).  So if your answers to one or more of these questions is yes, you can help me help you achieve these objectives.  So once again, if you haven't done so already, just complete the Feedback Form on our class website ― pleaseYou can do it now by clicking on any of the several links on this page, including the scrolling link in the following graphic (which you may also find n the banner at the top of every page on our website).

Do you want another class reunion in 2005?

REGISTER for our Class Directory and VOTE NOW!

Your feedback will include your vote on whether to have a 45-year reunion in 2005, and data to be entered into a database and used to create and maintain a class directory, which (with your permission only) will be posted to our class website and made accessible by your classmates (and not by others).

So do it now, or if not now, do it soon, but please submit your Feedback Form.

And when you do, please review the alphabetical list below of classmates whose e-dresses I have.  And if you have any classmates' e-dresses that I don't have, please let me know (or ask them to let me know).

Thanks and best regards to all of you.

Have a great summer,

And don't forget to tell me if your e-dress changes --- PLEASE!

1960 CLASSMATES WHOSE E-DRESSES ARE ON FILE

Please review the alphabetical list below of classmates whose e-dresses I have.  And if you have any classmates' e-dresses that I don't have, or some that have changed in the last year, please let me know (or ask them to let me know).  You may use the Feedback Form or send me an e-mail at howie@1960sailors.net.
