"I waited such a long time for today"
We may not have been in a park,
and it was the weekend before the Fourth of July, but it sure was one
that we all waited such a long time for
– the 50th
anniversary of our
graduation day in 1960. And what a
special Saturday it was!!
Some took
full advantage of the resort facilities offered by the
Hyatt Regency/Windwatch, for example, by
playing its beautiful golf course. (If anyone used the pool, no photographic
evidence was provided – but we can understand that.)
Some just
hung around the lobby together and went for lunch in the hotel or nearby (for example, at
the New York-style Chinese restaurant shown below). And some took side trips,
including back to Oceanside High
School (which is almost totally unrecognizable compared to the way it was
in our time).
And many of us had to spend the last part of the afternoon frantically preparing the
Hyatt's Grand
Ballroom for our 50-Year Grand Reunion Gala that evening.
